Happy 2025!
Wow! It’s crazy typing that. It’ll take me months to get used to doing it, too.
We had a lovely, if not quiet, Christmas and a similar New Years Eve. Neither of us cared about staying up until midnight. We’re at that stage where, no matter what time we go to bed, our bodies wake up at the same time every morning. I think the dogs trained us for that.
My daughter got me a lovely Christmas present. The photo is below.
Each dog is one of mine that has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Magnum, Gracie, Larka, and of course, Pony. The artist did an amazing job of painting them just like the photos. Each of those sweet babies were the best dogs and all my favorite.
What did you do for the holidays? I would love to hear!
We’re supposed to get significant snow soon, so I’m going to have to stock up on water and a few essentials. We have our own water system where we live, and if the power goes out, our electric water towers can’t pump. Let’s hope the power doesn’t go out! If it does, I’ll thank God for our generator, and continue working on Mortgaged to Murder, my Lily book, and Trusted Lies, my Rachel Ryder book.
Do you read either of those series?
Speaking of series, if you’re enjoying my cozy mysteries and want even more stories, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes content, my Patreon might be just what you’re looking for. With six different tiers—including a free option—there’s something for everyone. Paid subscribers get access to exclusive content that grows with each level, from early access to updates and bonus material to exciting perks like a weekly serialized story and advance reader copies of my books.
The top two levels are especially rewarding: subscribers get the weekly serial and an advanced reader copy of my books. The highest tier takes it a step further with both a final Kindle and paperback version. It’s a great way to stay ahead of new releases while supporting my work. You can explore all the options and find the right fit on my Patreon page—each tier is designed to add something special to your reading experience. https://www.patreon.com/c/carolynridderaspensonbooks

My new Jenna Wyatt Thriller is also up for preorder. This is the first in the series, and I'm so excited for it to release!
In Atlanta's shadows, where secrets fester and the missing stay buried, one woman's quest for truth threatens to unearth her own haunted past…
Jenna Wyatt thought she'd left her demons behind when she traded her GBI badge for a private detective's license. But when a desperate mother's plea echoes the unsolved mystery of Jenna's own missing sister, she's pulled into a labyrinth of deceit spanning decades.
Reluctantly partnering with Jack Parks, a magnetic ex-NCIS investigator, Jenna probes into Atlanta's underbelly, uncovering a chilling pattern of abductions and murders. As they peel back layers of lies, Jenna and Jack find themselves trapped in a deadly game where every revelation brings them closer to danger—and to the ghosts Jenna has spent a lifetime trying to outrun.
With lives hanging in the balance, Jenna must confront her darkest fears and decide: how much is she willing to sacrifice for the truth?
