Damaging Secrets is Now Available on PocketFM!
I have a little Rachel Ryder news to share. Damaging Secrets is now available on Pocket FM! If you’ve never heard of Pocket FM, don’t worry. It’s a little different from Audible or other audiobook platforms, and I wanted to explain how it works before you head over to listen. Pocket FM is an app that features stories told in episodes. Think of it as listening to a television series instead of sitting down to watch one. You listen to an episode, and when it’s finished, you move on to the next. They have all sorts of stories, including mysteries, thrillers, romance, and fantasy. And now they have Rachel Ryder! With a traditional audiobook, you usually purchase the whole book or use a credit, and then you can listen to it whenever you want. Pocket FM works a little differently. First, the app itself is free to download. You can listen to some episodes for free, too. Pocket FM offers free listening time each day, although the amount available can vary. Once you’ve used that up, you can either wait for more episodes to unlock or purchase coins to keep listening. The coins are Pocket FM’s currency. You buy them through the app and use them to unlock episodes. You don’t have to buy an entire story at once, and you can decide how much you want to spend. The app shows you how many coins an episode costs before you unlock it. Some episodes can also be unlocked by watching ads. There are optional subscription offers, too, depending on your account. One thing I do want to mention is that some episodes, particularly near the end of a story, may require coins rather than the regular daily free unlocks. I don’t want anyone surprised by that. Also, check your settings for the automatic unlock feature, since that can use your coins to open the next episode. You can download Pocket FM from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You can also visit Pocket FM’s website. Once you’re in the app, search for Damaging Secrets or Rachel Ryder. Or go here: https://listen.pocketfm.com/2IE7/se5n8nr7 I’m curious to see what everyone thinks about this format. I know a lot of you listen to audiobooks while driving, walking, cleaning the house, or doing all those things we have to do when we’d rather be reading. This gives you another option. And I love that Rachel is reaching a whole new audience. She’s been through quite a bit since I first introduced her, and anyone who’s read the series knows that trouble has a way of finding that woman. Of course, sometimes she goes looking for it herself! If you try Damaging Secrets on Pocket FM, I’d love to hear what you think. Have you used Pocket FM before? Do you prefer listening to an entire audiobook, or do you enjoy stories broken into shorter episodes? I’m interested to hear your thoughts! Happy reading, and listening! Carolyn
