Dear Readers,
Like most, I have been worried about the hurricane and the destruction it has caused, especially in North Carolina. I’ve wondered what I can do, and aside from dropping off some supplies at our local coffee shop, I would like to do more.
As an author, I am blessed to have a respectable platform of readers who I know are just as saddened by this tragedy, and I believe we can work together and help North Carolina.
With that, I’d like to make it as easy as possible for anyone able and willing to donate.
As an author who self-publishes my cozy mysteries, aside from regular business expenses, the rest of my royalties are considered income. When you buy a book, either digital, paperback, or audio, I make money. (Unless it’s returned. That royalty is then deducted from my income.) Unfortunately, I cannot offer the same option from my thrillers as they are published through a publisher.
Starting today, and through the month of October, I will donate a portion of my net royalties to Mountain Pet Rescue based in Asheville, North Carolina. https://www.mountainpetrescueavl.org
You guys, I am in tears just writing that and thinking about the dogs and cats in foster homes, waiting for their forever homes and losing the one safe place they had.
We can help, even if it’s just a small amount. If you can purchase a book, please do. If you have my books, or would like to donate a flat amount, you can also do that through my Venmo account. If that is something you want to do, please email me privately for that address.
I will keep you updated and if we can continue to help, we will. For now, I ask that you send this to all your friends and family. Every penny counts.
I sit here looking at my dogs safe and snoozing on my couch, and I am so grateful they are okay, but I want us to help those who need us. Please consider your contribution.
I pray you, your families, and your friends impacted by this hurricane are safe, and I ask that you help how you can. You can purchase my books here: https://amzn.to/3ZR5XF4
Thank you.
Carolyn
