Uncharted Territory An Angela Panther Mystery

“Be ready to laugh your butt off! This story has one of the best BFF relationships one will ever read, especially if one likes snarky, fast-witted characters. The dialogue between Angela and Mel will have tears streaming down one’s face, not to mention Frans attempt at gang slang. This book is the third in the series but stands really well on its own. The only question the reader might have is how Angela came to be so gifted. Not only does the humor shine through, but the love that is felt between the characters does as well. Carolyn Ridder Aspenson is now a go-to author, and the wait for book 4 will be oh so very hard! Write fast, Ms. Aspenson!” Lynne Bryant of InD’tale Magazine

Unbreakable Bonds An Angela Panther Mystery

“This read keeps you going. The pace and the myriad subplots are fun, engaging and interesting. So much so that EiR reader’s eyes burned a bit from staring at the screen for hours, hoping to read what happened next. This book is paranormal, but not in a cliche way; it’s a ghost book that is not, thank goodness, about scaring people. Instead, it touches upon lost connections, human interactions, mourning, and relationships. The protagonist, Angela, can hear ghosts, sure, but, ultimately, she is a normal middle-aged woman dealing with snarky teens, best friend woes, hot flashes and a mother who just won’t keep her opinion to herself. Okay, so the mother is a ghost, but it’s easy to forget that, since she is so very solid, real, in writing terms, that is. Ridder creates characters who are realistic, flawed, endearing and funny. Truly, this book is hilarious at times and very touching at others.
Usually, secondary characters are not easy to remember or connect with, but Ridder spends a lot of time fleshing out all of her characters and the result is wonderful. Ridder is not just a writer, she is an author. It takes something special to know how to craft a story, a plot, characters and mesh them together to create a really entertaining read. Ridder knows how to spin a yarn, make important connections and top them off with humor. Angela Lansbury (for the quirky mystery and impeccable detecting skills of the protag) meets Bridget Jones (for the hilarious, self-aware aspect of the protag). A very fun book and a definite Elite Indie Read.”—Elite Indie Reads via Amazon

Unfinished Business An Angela Panther Mystery

“I read Unfinished Business over the weekend, my first dip into Aspenson’s writing, after asking a group for recommendations for fun and easy to read books to keep me entertained after surgery.

Unfinished Business read quickly, with a few storylines carried through the book. Each storyline is given just the right amount of attention, and characters are well introduced and developed as the plots play out. As the chapters unfolded it was easy for me to become invested in the characters, and I not only finished the book quickly but didn’t hesitate to purchase the second (and then third!) book in the series.

This is a fun, yet thought-provoking story, that moves at a good pace. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any mystery/paranormal enthusiast friend.”—Midwest Mom via Amazon

Deal Gone Dead A Lily Sprayberry Realtor Cozy Mystery

“I adored the sweet southern charm in this new cozy mystery from Carolyn Ridder Aspenson. With the author’s eye for details, I was easily transported to Bramblett County. From page one I was hooked by the shocking murder of Myrtle Mae Redbeckere. My “who done it” list was surprisingly long for such a small, close-knit community. Aspenson weaved quite the web and left me changing my suspect list several times.

This a perfect weekend read that flowed nicely with an intriguing storyline and complex characters. I look forward to reading other books in the series.” —Lynn Shaw, 2 Girls & A Book
